    Description

    Offered is a precision laser cut sheet of hardwood veneer to make 50 pieces of N Scale Grain Doors measuring 18 inches high and 10ft long in N Scale. These are made from 0.020” thick hardwood, making them as true-to-scale as reasonably possible.
    The one laser cut hardwood sheet contains 50 pieces which will create grain doors for at least 10 doors or 5 box cars. Grain doors would also be found stacked or scattered near grain storage areas or near loading and unloading areas.
    Primarily, boxcar grain doors were used for transporting grain inside 40 & 50 foot boxcars, but coal and limestone were also loaded for transport. This method was used from the early days of railroading into the late 1980s. The boards would be installed on the inside of the boxcar door. The product was then loaded over boards or through chutes in the sides of the boxcar.
