    Description

A small antique brass bird whistle, about 4 1/2" tall.  It was an old photography tool -- before "Say cheese," it was "Watch the birdie!"  I've seen these dated anywhere from the late 19th century to the 1920s, but I've used the later date -- which still makes it 100 years old.  It's beak and tail move, and while it shows wear it still seems to be in good condition -- please see photos.  I’ve seen videos of them singing but I’m not sure how they work, whether using water in the bottom part (you’d have to clean to separate), or attaching a rubber tube to it and squeezing a hand bulb. It’s part of photography history.
Thanks for looking, I'm open to offers.
